This was the first TechBites: Grab your TechBites of the future of imaging technology and its applications! Build contacts and join discussions with key people from Tampere-based imaging companies and some international visitors.

Tampere University of Technology organized the event in collaboration with Tampere Imaging Ecosystem and Kampusklubi.

Who was there?

The event is intended for all those who apply imaging technologies to products or services, including computer/machine vision, optics, camera design, intelligent automation, automotive applications and so on. We had more than 200 participants at Hervanta Campus, Kampusareena.

Vice President, Imaging, Juha Alakarhu, Axon

Developer of Nokia’s 41 Megapixel Monster Camera and VR Camera Ozon is now in charge of the Imaging team at Axon’s newly established Tampere unit. The team develops wearable cameras for police as well as cameras for police cars.

Associate professor Joni Kämäräinen, Signal Processing

Leads a team of nine researchers who develop computer vision, pattern recognition and Image Google. “Our major goal is to do everything with a camera that people can do with their eyes.”
