Those working in higher education are almost constantly bombarded with the message that we should embrace digitalization. This presentation will seek to critically examine and deconstruct the themes of power and digitalization in the higher education context.
There is no doubt that the affordances of digital technologies have enabled new and innovative approaches to education. At the same time, there are also both the expected and unforeseen consequences of these changes and developments.
The presentation will attempt to provoke thinking and debate around the topic of digitalization and datafication, reflecting on what has happened and the claims of what will come as we move towards a Postdigital era and the so-called Web 3.0 future.
