Special Session on GNSS in Smartphones

This special session solicits submissions that focus on all the aspects of the contribution of GNSS positioning using smartphones.

The access to the raw GNSS measurements acquired by the low-cost chipset installed in commercial smartphones enables numerous possibilities for real-time spatial related applications. This has allowed the development of different apps and positioning techniques and today a sub-meter level of accuracy is obtainable also in real-time, with these devices. Although improvements of this technology have been adopted, it is changing rapidly according to the market’s requests. In this context all contributions related to the new improvements in terms of sensors, technologies and methodologies related to GNSS positioning with smartphones are really welcome.

Submissions to the special session in either of the paper types (IEEE or open-access) can be made at the ICL-GNSS submission site. A virtual special issue in MDPI Sensors (JCR IF 3.031) open-access journal will be edited after the conference based on extended top-tier papers from the conference.
