WEAR
WEAR journal is dedicated to the advancement of fundamental and applied knowledge concerning the nature of wear of materials. Broadly, topics of interest range from development of fundamental understanding of the mechanisms of wear to innovative solutions to practical engineering problems. Published by Elsevier B.V.
Special issue: Tribology for a Sustainable Future: Surface Design, Advanced Manufacturing, and Functional Materials
Editors: Auezhan Amanov and Vilma Ratia-Hanby
This Special Issue of WEAR features selected papers from the NordTrib 2026: The 21st Nordic Tribology Symposium, showcasing the latest advances in tribology, surface engineering, and materials science. The collection highlights innovative research on friction, wear, and lubrication mechanisms, as well as emerging approaches in sustainable and intelligent surface design. Topics include tribology in advanced and additive manufacturing, green lubrication technologies, surface integrity, bio-inspired and nanostructured materials, and data-driven tribology. Together, these contributions reflect the evolving role of tribology in enabling durability, energy efficiency, and circularity in modern engineering systems.
Journal of Tribology
The Journal of Tribology features a mix of experimental, numerical, and theoretical articles dealing with all aspects of the field. In addition to being of interest to engineers and other scientists doing research in the field, the Journal is also of great importance to engineers who design or use mechanical components such as bearings, gears, seals, magnetic recording heads and disks, or prosthetic joints, or who are involved with manufacturing processes. Published by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
Tribologia – Finnish Journal of Tribology
