About SCANDEM

The Nordic Microscopy Society, SCANDEM was founded October 16, 1948, at the Research Institute of Experimental Physics in Stockholm. It has since then served as an active organization focusing on all aspects related to microscopy. This includes developments of the technology, specimen preparation techniques, applications in material and life sciences and new types of microscopy. Most of the members come from universities, research institutes and industries in the Nordic countries.

The Nordic Microscopy Society is affiliated with European Microscopy Society (EMS) and International Federation of Societies for Microscopy (IFSM)

We recommend, if you can, to become a member of the Nordic Microscopy Society that will also make you a member of European and international microscopy society. The current annual fee is 27 euro for a single member. In addition to gain the benefits of these memberships your membership fee will support possible SCANDEM2022 presentation awards this year.

Institution and company sponsoring of SCANDEM2022 are much welcome and will be acknowledged. Please contact us by mail scandem2022@tuni.fi
