Anthem foundation
Fondazione ANTHEM (AdvaNced Technologies for Human-centrEd Medicine) is an innovative institutional ecosystem established under the Italian Ministry of University and Research (MUR) to coordinate a major national initiative focused on advancing human-centered medicine through interdisciplinary innovation.
The Foundation brings together leading academic institutions, the University of Milan-Bicocca, the Polytechnic University of Milan, the University of Bergamo, and the University of Catania. Supported by a broad network of research centers, hospitals, healthcare providers, and industrial partners, ANTHEM fosters collaboration across disciplines to accelerate the translation of scientific discoveries into tangible healthcare solutions.
Scientific Research and Operational Macro Areas
ANTHEM is committed to addressing the challenges posed by chronic and fragile patient populations through a research framework organized into four complementary scientific areas:
- Digital Health Solutions: Development of digital technologies, integrated platforms, and intelligent systems to support early diagnosis, personalized care pathways, and more effective therapeutic interventions.
- Smart Environmental & Clinical Monitoring: Design of wearable, portable, and environmental sensing technologies to monitor patient clinical parameters and external environmental risks factors in real time.
- Advanced Diagnostic & Tracking Tools: Creation of innovative diagnostic systems, predictive models and clinical protocols to improve the detection, monitoring, and management of widespread chronic diseases within community-based healthcare systems.
- Innovative Therapeutics: Research and development of next-generation therapeutic solutions, combining scientific excellence and clinical relevance to address complex and unmet medical needs.
International Strategy and Training Vision
International cooperation is a cornerstone of ANTHEM’s strategy. The Foundation actively promotes partnerships with universities, research organizations, and healthcare institutions worldwide, supporting mobility programs, joint research initiatives, doctoral exchanges, and collaborative innovation projects.
To further strengthen the impact of research and innovation, the Foundation has launched AnthemEdu. This cross-disciplinary training framework is specifically designed to train next-generation professionals across both academic and industrial sectors, equipping them with the pragmatic skills needed to address emerging challenges in healthcare, technology, and societal well-being.
Fondazione ANTHEM contributes to shaping a more sustainable, inclusive, and patient-centered healthcare ecosystem. The Foundation welcomes opportunities for international collaboration, joint research activities, and strategic partnerships aimed at advancing healthcare and improving quality of life.
By integrating scientific excellence, technological innovation, and collaborative networks, Fondazione ANTHEM remains committed to promoting pioneering scientific discoveries and technological excellence through strategic synergy. We welcome the opportunity to explore mutual collaborations, joint research initiatives, and strategic partnerships.
