The Old City Hall is located next to Tampere Central Square (Keskustori), 25 minutes on foot (1.5 km) from the congress venue, or a short tram or bus ride away with stops right next to it.

Early morning run through the historic city center of Tampere

A short and slow run through the historic city center, along the shoreline of the Tammer rapids that provided the first source of power to the growing industrial development of Tampere. A great way to a get a touch on Tampere as a city. We will meet at the main entrance of Tampere-talo, the main conference venue before 7 am and start the run at 7.00. Two alternative routes, the full length approx.4km and the shorter route 2km. We will return to Tampere-talo by 7.40.

Consider this run as a comfortable jog suitable for all paces and offering an energizing start to the day before sessions begin.

Conference dinner

The conference dinner is organised on Wednesday, 12 May, on Viikinsaari, a tranquil island owned by the City of Tampere and enjoyed by residents and visitors alike. It’s a relaxed, accessible destination known for its nature paths, lakeside views, and easy-going atmosphere. Rather than an exclusive venue, Viikinsaari is a beloved public spot where people come to picnic, walk, and unwind—making it a friendly, down-to-earth setting for delegates to spend an evening together.

The conference dinner is available at a separate fee of 70€. Registration and payment are made through the congress registration form.

To reach Viikinsaari, participants will take the ferry arranged for the SNS2026 participants. From Tampere Hall, it’s an easy 15–20-minute walk, or a short tram or bus ride, to Laukontori, where the ferry will depart. Conference staff will help guide participants to the correct departure point. The short ferry ride takes about 20 minutes.
