Winter School on Nonlinear Photoncis
Winter School on Nonlinear Photonics March 22-28 2026, Andalo - Trento, Italy

Information about the school

The Winter School brings together PhD students and young researchers from around the world for an intensive one-week program combining advanced lectures and networking in a unique mountain setting. The school focuses on nonlinear photonics, introducing participants to key concepts and current frontiers of the field. Lectures by leading international experts will cover fiber and integrated photonic platforms and their applications, including optical solitons, supercontinuum generation, frequency combs, quantum light sources, wavelength conversion, and optical sensing.

Free time is reserved each day to enjoy skiing or relaxation, complemented by informal networking events and evening sessions on emerging topics, accompanied by refreshments.

As a residential school, participants and lecturers stay in the same hotel, encouraging informal discussions and close scientific interaction throughout the week.

Who should apply: PhD students and early-stage researchers interested in nonlinear and ultrafast photonics, laser physics, or optical technologies.

IMPORTANT: Please note that the number of participants is limited. Selection will be made on a first-come, first-served basis, pending approval by the school chairs. Please upload a CV in the pre-registration webpage. Once your registration has been approved, you will receive a link by email for paying the registration fees. We also encourage participants to present a poster about their research during a dedicated poster session.
