Instructions for panel chairs & speakers
Individual panel presentations should not exceed 15 minutes. Depending on the number of presentations (3–4), there will be time for Q&A either jointly at the end of the panel (15-30 min), or 5 minutes after each presentation. The assigned chair is responsible for the panel’s schedule. The panel chair introduces the speakers – very shortly – and chairs the Q&A.
All participants use the lecture room laptop for sharing PowerPoint presentations and other (audio)visual materials. We kindly ask the participants to bring their presentations and other material on a USB drive. Converting your presentation to PDF will save from formatting troubles. In case your presentation includes audio or video, please contact narrativematters2023@tuni.fi.

Reception at the City Hall, Thursday, June 15
Participants registered for the City Hall reception are invited to walk with the organizing team from the conference venue to the City Hall. We leave from the main lobby at 18:30. The walk is less than 2 kilometers. You can also use public transport (bus or tram). The City Hall’s address is Keskustori 10. Please make sure to wear your conference tag as it is also your entrance ticket! The reception takes approximately an hour, and small cocktail snacks are served. You may want to have proper dinner after the reception! See “Where to eat”.
Lake cruise, dinner, sauna and swim @Viikinsaari, Friday, June 16
Participants registered for the Viikinsaari cruise & dinner are invited to walk with the organizing team from the conference venue to the harbor at Laukontori. We leave from the main lobby at 17:30. The walk is 1,5 kilometers. If you walk there by yourself, please make sure that you meet the rest of us at the Laukontori harbor well before the departure at 18:00. The name of the ferry company is Hopealinjat, and the name of our ferry is Silver Moon. The ferry departs from pier 3. The conference tag is your entrance ticket, and we’ll hand all registered participants 2 drink vouchers when boarding – please make sure to keep them with you!
The ferry takes us to the Viikinsaari island, where the dinner is served and the sauna is warm for the duration of our visit. Please take your swimsuit with you – and if possible, also a hotel towel as there is a limited number of towels available at the sauna. There are separate dressing rooms and showers for men and women, but the sauna itself is mixed and a swimsuit or a towel must be worn while bathing. The sauna has a capacity of 30–50 people, so turns need to be taken in dining and bathing/swimming.
Our ferry Silver Moon leaves Viikinsaari at 23:00. If you wish to leave earlier, the public ferry departs from Viikinsaari at 20:30, 21:30 and 22:30. No ticket is needed for the return trip.
