Virpi Tuunainen
Virpi Kristiina Tuunainen is Associate Dean of research and international cooperation and professor of information systems science (Department of Information and Service Management) at Aalto University School of Business, and past director of Aalto University Service Factory (2010-2015). She was a Jubilee Professor at the Department of Applied IT in Chalmers University of Technology and University of Gothenburg (Sweden) in 2017. Earlier, she has been a visiting professor/researcher in University of Hong Kong, University of Texas at Austin (USA), Erasmus University Rotterdam (the Netherlands), University of Auckland (New Zealand), Roskilde University (Denmark) and Copenhagen Business School (Denmark).
Her current research focuses on on platform economy and AI based services. Her work has appeared in journals, such as, MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Journal, Journal of Management Information Systems, Journal of Strategic Information Systems, European Journal of Information Systems and Information & Managementand in conferences, such as, ICIS, ECIS and HICSS.
She’s past Vice President of Publications of the AIS (aisnet.org), past President of AIS SIG Services, and she received the AIS Fellow award in 2016.
She currently serves as editor of European Journal of Information Systems.
Rainer Alt
Rainer Alt is a Full Professor for business information systems at Leipzig University since 2006. His research focuses on interorganizational networking, in particular the use of digital technologies in linking customers and suppliers as well as in the field of digital platforms and markets. Among the recent research topics are decentralized platforms based on digital ledger technologies (DLT) as well as the application potentials of converging technologies, such as DLT and AI, in industries such as finance (Fintech). He has been Dean of the Faculty of Economics at Leipzig University since 01.04.2024.
