You’ll find our English-taught bachelor’s and master’s programmes in the education fair area, known in Finnish as “koulutustori”. Although most of the Jatkoon! Education Expo programme is in Finnish, our students and staff are happy to answer your questions in English as well.

Off Road Machines of the Future – How Robotics, Gaming Tech, and AI Are Transforming Big Machines

Join leading experts from academy and industry as they explore the future of offroad machines! You will learn how autonomous vehicles “see” their surroundings; how gaming and simulation are becoming core tools for training and machine development; and whether work machines such as excavators and harvesters can truly run on batteries. What skills are needed for the future jobs that involve working with heavy machinery?

Learning environment: Mobile Lab – Off-Road Machines of the Future

The Mobile Lab at Tampere University is a versatile research and teaching platform designed for studying off-road mobile machinery, intelligent hydaraulics, and hybrid powertrain systems. The lab brings advanced measurement equipment, sensors, and data-acquisition tools directly to the field, enabling real-world testing of vehicles/machines, components, and control systems. It supports research on automation, energy efficiency, electrification, and human-machine interaction.

Learning environment: RoboStudio

Come and say hello to Pepper, known for its sociability, Nao, who enjoys physical activity, or our dear fluffy animal robots, at Robostudio — home to a wide variety of social robots. In addition to being the residence of these social robots, Robostudio is a multidisciplinary shared learning space where we host teaching, thesis supervision, research projects, and visits.
