Jorma Keskinen

Professor

Jorma Keskinen is a professor of physics at Tampere University (TAU), and the head of Aerosol Physics Laboratory. He has led studies related to aerosol instrument development, atmospheric particle characteristics, and vehicle emissions. Instruments based on the concepts developed initially in his group are used by over 400 laboratories worldwide. He has published more than 160 research papers (>6600 citations, h-index 46 at Scopus). He is also the head of the Degree Programme in Engineering and Natural Sciences at TAU. For the students of this programme, he has been teaching on courses ranging from the common core physics courses to postgraduate studies in aerosol measurement techniques.

Pasi Korkola

Specialist Medical Physicist

Physicist Korkola has been a special teacher in the Tampere University of Applied Sciences and former Pirkanmaa Polytechnic for more than 15 years. His main profession is in the department of Nuclear medicine in Tampere university hospital. Introduction and teaching of a new technology in the area of medical imaging and nuclear medicine is same time interesting, fascinating and challenging – not only for becoming radiographers. An overview of applied physics and recent developments and future trends in the area of nuclear medicine will be addressed.

Markku Saarelainen

Prof. Saarelainen has been one of the key developers of the flipped classroom approach in Finland. He has implemented flipped classroom for several years in physics education in the University of Eastern Finland (UEF). As a role of Development Manager, he has guided for more than 100 teachers in 25 disciplines to implement Flipped Classroom approach in UEF. As a Professor of Practice in strategic development in Tampere University he has created a learning community of more than 100 teachers to use and facilitate the Flipped Classroom

Rohit Agrawal

Rohit Agrawal is a Senior Customer Success Engineer at MathWorks Stockholm Office. He has 7 years of experience in helping Nordic and Baltic universities use MATLAB, Simulink and various MathWorks tools in education and research. He focuses on Machine Learning and Deep Learning techniques for various engineering applications. Rohit holds a bachelor’s degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering from Vellore Institute of Technology India. He holds a master’s degree from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden in Embedded Systems specializing on verification of Automotive Requirements. Prior to joining MathWorks, he worked as a Manufacturing Process Engineer for Magneti Marelli Powertrain India.
