Colonialism and indigenous people’s history are now recognized and accepted fields of research in Nordic history. However, historians’ interest in Nordic colonialism and indigenous people has not been directed towards themes closely related to labour history, such as proletarianization, the experience of wage labor, capitalist exploitation, labor organization, labor politics, and resistance.

This track invites proposals for sessions and papers that explore the intersection of labor history with the intertwined narratives of colonialism, capitalism, industrialization, and the experiences of indigenous peoples in the Nordic and Arctic region.
