Note that the audience in the MET Research Day is multidisciplinary and the aim of the event is to facilitate cooperation between the disciplines and research groups.
When preparing your abstract, focus on presenting your research profile broadly, rather than the very latest findings. Highlight your capabilities and what you offer for collaboration to help the audience understand your work and its potential for future partnerships.
To engage the evaluators (and later your audience), make sure your abstract explains what you research, why it’s important, the main results, and what you can offer for collaboration. This makes it easier for them to see connections to their own work and discuss details later. Emphasize the problem, its importance, your goals, and your conclusions in a way that’s clear to researchers from different fields, avoiding jargon.
We request abstracts (and, later, the posters and presentations) presenting either broad research areas (finished/on-going PhD theses, entire research projects, etc.), or specific research topics (MSc theses, single publications, etc.).
