Tiedon valoa online event gathers scientists and experts in different fields to discuss about current topics. For English speakers we offer a pearl on Saturday 29th January at 2 - 4 PM, when the internationally acclaimed Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition takes place. Other event content is in Finnish.

Research in three minutes

Tampere University is organising the internationally acclaimed Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition as part of the Tiedon valoa science event. In three minutes, the doctoral researchers present their research topics as interesting and vernacular as possible.

The 3MT finalists of Tampere 2022 are (in alphabetical order):

 

  • Paula Puistola, MET: The world we see is 3D. So must our artificial tissues be.
  • Prabudeva Ramu, ENS: The future with solar gadgets.
  • Ropafadzo Mzezewa, MET: How to model epilepsy outside the brain?
  • Yelyzaveta Glybchenko, MAB: Imaginary Reconstitution of Security: Digital Art for Peace.
  • Yoshito Mizukawa, ITC: Vibration Suppression and Energy Harvesting for Battery-free Devices.
