Kickstarting PhD studies in Social Psychology

When: May 6, 13:00–16:00

Where: Tampere University, Linna Building

What:
This pre-conference workshop is designed to support PhD students in developing research and career skills while also creating opportunities to connect with peers from different universities. We warmly welcome PhD students as well as late-stage master’s students who are considering starting a PhD.

The programme includes short talks, interactive discussions, and hands-on exercises, offering both practical tools and space for reflection and exchange.

Presentations:

  • Vice Dean, Prof. Atte Oksanen: Research and career planning – tips and recommendations

  • Teija Ahopelto, Project Researcher: Project management skills for successful PhD completion

  • Prof. Nelli Hankonen: How to write impactful research proposals and scientific articles

  • Dr Anu Sirola, University Instructor: Experiences from a PhD journey

The workshop will be followed by an informal, self-paid dinner at 17:00 — a great opportunity to continue the conversations. Welcome! (Location TBA)

Register for the pre-conference with conference registration by April 16!

NOTE: The organisers reserve the right to modify the programme or cancel the workshop if a sufficient number of participants have not registered by April 16.
