Keynote speakers
  • There are scheduled 40 minutes on the agenda.
  • Please prepare a 30-minute presentation with 10 minutes for questions following your talk
Invited and other speakers
  • There are scheduled 25 minutes on the agenda.
  • Please prepare a 20-minute presentation with 5 minutes for questions following your talk

Presentation

Latest at the morning of your presentation day, take your presentation file to the onsite Staff located at registration. Your presentation will be downloaded to the presentation computer in advance to facilitate a smooth transition from one speaker to the next. We recommend that speakers have a backup copy of their talk on a jumpdrive the day of their presentation.

Quite room, Opus 1

Quite room is available for presenters to prepare themselves for presentation. Opus 1 is located at 2nd floor at Tampere Hall.

Social media

The participants and presenters are allowed and encouraged to discuss SICFP23 Conference presentations on social media. Be sure to include the official hashtag, #SICF23 when sharing photos or other snippets of your time at the conference on Twitter and elsewhere on social media.

Special issue

Special issue intitled “Innovative and Intelligent Actuation for Heavy-Duty Applications” is opened in Actuators Journal (Impact factor 2.523) by MDPI and welcoming submissions. A selected SICFP post-conference papers (extended by 40 %) and will be published in open access form, after peer review with 50 % discount. Special issue in International Journal of Fluid Power by River publishers dedicated to modelling will be opened for post-conference publications in June 2023.

Best Paper Award

Purpose: The purpose of the Best Paper Award is to recognise and promote quality contributions to academic research and writing among scholars and PhD students who present and publish papers at the SICFP conference.

Eligibility: All full peer-reviewed papers submitted and published in the SICFP conference publications of the 2023 year (main proceedings and selected papers), regardless of the status of the first authors (i.e., scholar, student, educator, policy maker, or professional, etc.) are eligible for competition for the Best Paper Award.

Award Candidates Announcement: Authors of the selected papers will be announced at the conference dinner and on the conference homepage.

Award Selection Committee: The Scientific Committee members will score candidate papers.

Award Criteria: The Scientific Committee will consider innovation, significance to the research community, scientific impact, and technical excellence.

Prize: €1000 TUNI

Best Student Paper Award

Purpose: The purpose of the Best Student Paper Award is to recognise and promote quality contributions to academic research and writing among PhD students who present and publish papers at the SICFP conference.

Eligibility: The considered papers must satisfy following criteria. The paper is accepted by the SICFP2023. The first author of the candidate paper must be a PhD student, and the candidate paper is presented by the first author at the conference.

Award Candidates Announcement: Authors of the selected paper will be announced at the conference dinner and on the conference homepage.

Award Selection Committee: The Global Fluid Power Society Committee members present in SICFP23 will score candidate papers.

Award Criteria: The Scientific Committee will consider innovation, significance to the research community, scientific impact, and technical excellence.

Prize: $500

Best Presentation Award

Purpose: The purpose of the Best Presentation Award is to recognise and promote quality dissemination to academic research among PhD students who present and publish papers at the SICFP conference.

Eligibility: The considered papers must satisfy following criteria. The paper is accepted by the SICFP2023.

Award Selection Committee: The Scientific Committee members will score candidate presentation.

Award Candidates Announcement: Best presentation will be announced on the closing ceremony (IHA demo night) on 1 June and on the conference homepage.

Award Criteria: The Scientific Committee will consider presentation inspiration, significance to the research community, scientific impact, and technical excellence.

Prize: €500
