Admission and event passport

Please register at the designated registration desks by presenting the confirmation email you received when signing up for Homecoming Day. To speed up entry, have the confirmation email ready to display on your mobile device. Please arrive on time and be prepared for a short queue.

Upon registration, you will receive an event passport on a lanyard, which serves as your identification throughout the day. Markers will be available at the registration desks.

Registration desk locations

  • The registration desk at Tampere Hall is located near the main entrance for those attending the keynote seminar in the morning.
  • On the city centre, Hervanta and Kauppi campuses, participants can register at the information desk located near the main entrance. If you register at Tampere Hall in the morning, you do not need to register again on campus.

Information desks

The Tampere Hall information desk is open in the morning and evening, while the campus-specific information desks are open from 12.00 to 17.00. All information desks provide details about the programme and services as well as practical assistance throughout the day.

Pre-registration for activities

Participants were invited to register in advance for the keynote seminar, the evening gathering at Tampere Hall, the anniversary event on the Hervanta campus, and the guided tours on the Kauppi campus.

You can update your registration details via the link included in your confirmation email until 3 November and sign up for activities if places are still available.

All other campus-specific activities are open to all participants who registered for Homecoming Day. Each campus offers a diverse programme featuring a variety of activities, guided tours and visits to different venues.

Parking and transport

Local transport

Your event passport doubles as a ticket for local transport in Tampere on 8 November – you can travel by tram and bus free of charge throughout the day!

  • To use the ticket, scan the QR code on the event passport using the reader on board the tram or bus.
  • The ticket is valid in zones A-C within Tampere.

Chartered buses will transport pre-registered participants from Tampere Hall to the campuses after the keynote seminar, and back to Tampere Hall after the campus-specific afternoon activities have ended. If you did not pre-register for this bus transport, please speak to the transport coordinators at the information desks to enquire about available seats.

Parking

Parking is free on the University car parks across the three campuses during Homecoming Day. Please note that a parking fee applies in the parking garage on the Hervanta campus.

Services available in the event venues

First aid

First aid stations are available at Tampere Hall, the city centre campus and the Hervanta campus during Homecoming Day. First aid services are provided by the Finnish Red Cross.

First aid stations are located near the information desks.

In case of emergency, call the emergency number 112.

Alumni lounge (city centre campus and Hervanta campus)

Is your phone out of charge? Would you like a glass of water while exploring the activities hosted by our student and alumni associations? Drop by the alumni lounge!

The lounge offers a relaxed space for informal socialising, complete with a phone charging station, complimentary water and the chance to connect with your fellow alumni. You will also have the opportunity to meet representatives from our student and alumni associations.

Campus pop-up shops

Pop-up shops will be available on all campuses, offering products featuring the Tampere University logo. Browse the selection and take home a souvenir from Homecoming Day! University-branded merchandise is available for purchase on all campuses. Please note that only card payments are accepted.

Lost and found

Lost items will be taken to the information desk during the event. After the event, unclaimed items will be forwarded to the local lost property office (Pirkanmaan löytötavaratoimisto).

Restaurants and cafés

Lunch and afternoon coffee is provided to all those who registered for Homecoming Day. Morning coffee is served to keynote seminar attendees. Additional snacks and refreshments will be available for purchase throughout the day.
