The multidisciplinary Tampere University and its predecessor institutions have played a key role in advancing education and expertise in Finland for 100 years. We warmly invite all our alumni to join us for Homecoming Day as part of our Year of Celebrations 2025.
You are considered an alum if you have graduated from Tampere University or any of its predecessor institutions. Welcome to Tampere University’s Homecoming Day on 8 November 2025!
Homecoming Day spread across three campuses
The day will begin with a morning seminar for all attendees, featuring interesting presentations on technology, health and society.
In the afternoon, the event will continue with faculty-specific events and activities spread across the Hervanta campus, the Kauppi campus and the city centre campus. You will have the chance to explore the latest developments in our research and education, join guided campus tours, and visit our laboratories and learning environments.
The event will conclude with a gathering at Tampere Hall.
Welcome to Tampere
Tampere is a vibrant city full of events, and many activities will coincide with Homecoming Day. We recommend booking your accommodation and planning your visit well in advance.
Participation in Homecoming Day is free of charge for alumni. Room quotas have been reserved at nearby hotels. Free train transportation from Helsinki to Tampere will be offered to alumni who register the fastest.
Participants will be offered a complimentary vegetarian lunch, morning coffee and afternoon coffee. Refreshments will also be served during the evening event at Tampere Hall.
Tampere University’s Year of Celebrations 2025
In 2025, Tampere University celebrates its 100-year journey as well as the 60-year history of higher education and academic research in technology in Tampere. We are marking this milestone with a series of events throughout the year. Homecoming Day is one of the highlights of our Year of Celebrations.
