Currency and paying in Finland
The local currency in Finland is Euro (€). Card and mobile payments are accepted practically everywhere (Visa and Mastercard are the most widely accepted). Cash is used more seldom, and there can be places that do not accept cash anymore. However, it is advisable to have some cash with you just in case.
Plug type
Finland uses power plugs and outlets of type C (two round pins) and type F (with two round pins and grounding clips/holes), operating at 230V and 50Hz. You will need a C or F adapter for devices from countries with different systems (like the US and UK).
Tap water
Finnish tap water is clean and safe to drink. It is recommendable that you use a reusable bottle.
Weather
In August, the weather is usually quite warm in Finland: not cold, but not very hot either. However, the weather can change rapidly to rainy or sunny. The temperature can be anything between 10 to 22 degrees Celsius. Please see the weather forecast here.

Shopping
Shops are usually open until 7-8 pm, grocery stores until 9 pm or even later. There are a couple of shopping centers and department stores in Tampere city centre as well as some smaller shops and boutiques in the city centre. Please see shopping tips here.
