Restaurants at Tampere University City centre campus
YO Restaurant in the Main building is open from Monday to Thursday at 10.30–17.00 and on Friday at 10.30-16.00. Warm lunch (a couple of options daily, incl. vegan) is served from the lunch lines throughout the opening hours. See the restaurant website here.
Restaurant Minerva in the Pinni B building is open from Monday to Friday at 7.30-15.00. Warm lunch (a couple of options daily, incl. vegan) is served from the lunch lines from 11.00 until 15.00. See the restaurant website here.
Restaurant Linna in the Linna building is open from Monday to Thursday at 8.00-17.00 (lunch at 10.30-16.30) and on Friday at 8.00-15.00 (lunch at 10.30-15.00). Warm lunch (a couple of options daily, incl. vegan) is served from the lunch line. See the restaurant website here.
Other restaurants nearby
Besides the campus restaurants, there are a number of other restaurants close to the University offering daily lunch, like Restaurant Tuhto in Tampere Hall, Restaurant Myllärit, Restaurant Aleksis and Restaurant Telakka.
Restaurants serving asian or vegan food, local delicacies, pizzas, hamburgers and schnitzels can be found nearby. In the summertime, why not have lunch at the nearby marketplace, Tammelantori, only a few blocks away from the University.
There are also many restaurants in the nearby shopping centers Tullintori, Koskikeskus and Ratina.
Tip: if you want to secure fluent lunches during the conference days, you might want to consider purchasing the lunches at the conference venue Tampere Hall beforehand. A limited number of these lunches will be available according to pre-orders that are made by 1 August 2026 (link to the order form will be added here later). You will get your lunch by showing the receipt of purchase at the lunch area.
Dinner restaurants
Most of the restaurants offer options for special diets like vegan and gluten free. Table reservations are recommended. Please note that hotels have dinner restaurants too. Many restaurants have cabinets for groups of approx. 10-20 persons. If you need meeting facilities, please check the options that are offered by the hotels.
